Short answer
GRE General Test scores reach your ETS account 8 to 10 days after the test. GRE Subject Tests have a fixed reporting date for each testing window. ScoreSelect lets you choose which test dates your schools receive, and scores stay reportable for five years.
General Test timing
At a test center, you see unofficial Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning scores at the end of the test. Analytical Writing is not shown then. Official scores, including Analytical Writing, appear in your ETS account 8 to 10 days after your test date, and ETS emails you when they are ready.
Subject Test reporting dates
Subject Tests work differently. They are given in testing windows, and every test date in a window shares one official score reporting date. On that date your scores appear in your ETS account, ETS emails you, and your designated schools receive their official score reports at the same time.
| Testing window | Scores reported |
|---|---|
| Oct 19 to Nov 1, 2026 | Monday, Nov 9, 2026 |
| Apr 19 to May 2, 2027 | Monday, May 10, 2027 |
ScoreSelect
ScoreSelect controls which of your scores schools see. The options depend on when you send:
- On test day: after viewing your unofficial scores, you can send either your Most Recent scores or All of your General Test scores from the last five years.
- After test day: Most Recent and All are still available, plus Any, which lets you pick one or several test administrations from the last five years.
On test day you can name up to four schools to receive your scores at no extra cost. Sending them then means the schools get your official scores as soon as they are ready.
Sending more score reports
After test day, you order Additional Score Reports through your ETS account. ETS lists the fee as US$40 per recipient, and processing takes about five business days, so allow for that on top of your score date when a deadline is close. Scores can be sent any time in the five years they stay reportable.
