When do CFA results come out?

CFA Institute's results page gives a timing rule, not dates: results arrive within 5 to 9 weeks after your exam window closes, and you get an email when they are ready. When CFA Institute announces an exact date, it appears here.

How CFA results are released

  • Within 5 to 9 weeks after the close of your exam window, CFA Institute emails you that your official result is available.
  • Results show pass or fail, your performance by topic, and an overall scale score compared with the minimum passing score.
  • Candidates who pass Level III do not receive detailed results.
  • CFA Institute publishes pass rates in a press release when results are out. Its Sep 24, 2026 release for August 2026 Level I also named the Level II date (Sep 30) and Level III date (Oct 20).

How long do CFA results take?

CFA Institute says results arrive within 5 to 9 weeks after the close of your exam window. The estimates on this page apply that rule to each window's last day.

Does CFA Institute announce the results date in advance?

Not on its results page, which only gives the 5 to 9 week window. It sometimes names upcoming dates in a press release, as it did on Sep 24, 2026 for August 2026 Level II and III. Those dates are shown here as official; everything else is labeled an estimate.

Which levels are offered in each window?

Level I is offered in February, May, August and November. Level II is offered in May, August and November. Level III is offered in February and August, based on the current CFA Institute schedule.
