Short answer
NCEES says most FE and PE results are typically available within 7 to 10 business days. In Canadian provinces and some international locations, results go to the board first, typically 8 to 10 weeks after the exam. PE Structural depth sections take 10 to 13 weeks because they need standard setting.
The standard timeline
For most US jurisdictions, FE and computer-based PE results are typically available within 7 to 10 business days of the exam. Business days skip weekends, and holidays can stretch the wait further. Ten business days that include Christmas and New Year's Day can run to 18 calendar days, as the business days guide shows.
| Exam | Typical time to results |
|---|---|
| FE, most US jurisdictions | 7 to 10 business days |
| PE, most exams | 7 to 10 business days |
| FE, Canada and some international locations | About 8 to 10 weeks, released to the board first |
| PE Structural, breadth sections | 7 to 10 days |
| PE Structural, depth sections | 10 to 13 weeks |
Canada and international locations
For Canadian provinces and some international locations, NCEES releases results to the licensing board first, typically 8 to 10 weeks after the exam. The result then becomes available to you through your MyNCEES account.
PE Structural depth
The PE Structural exam has two components, vertical and lateral, and each has a breadth and a depth section. Breadth results are available in 7 to 10 days. Depth results take 10 to 13 weeks, because NCEES runs standard setting evaluations on them first.
Depth sections are given on fixed dates twice a year. The next are October 27 (lateral) and October 28 (vertical), 2026, then April 13 and 14, 2027. Counting 10 to 13 weeks from late October puts depth results around January 2027.
How results reach you
NCEES sends an email with instructions to view your result in your MyNCEES account. Results are reported as pass or fail.
If you do not pass
Examinees who fail receive a diagnostic report showing their performance in each major topic on the exam. There is no diagnostic report for a pass.
